Papirøen, officially called Christiansholm, is transforming from a former industrial area in Copenhagen's inner harbor into a vibrant new urban district. The newly developed island is centrally located opposite the Drama Theatre and the Opera House and is currently undergoing redevelopment: the old paper warehouses are being replaced by a mix of apartments, cultural venues, grocery stores, and recreational spaces. Denmark's most expensive apartment is also located here.

This cycle path becomes a relaxed gravel stretch right along the water, offering lovely views of the residential area across the canal. It’s officially a singletrack, but perfectly rideable with a hybrid bike. The path can get a bit muddy after heavy rain, but is otherwise smooth and easy, with a peaceful atmosphere. Along the way, you’ll also find useful amenities like toilets, water stations, and even air pumps.
