The campsite is located directly on the river. The pitches are generously sized and easily accessible. Cycle route 6 runs right past the campsite. Check-in and check-out were very quick and straightforward. A few more modern sanitary facilities would be desirable.

Over the centuries, the city was besieged several times and fought over in conflicts between France and Burgundy, experiencing periods of occupation.
