Beautiful walk around Chaumes-en-Retz

Neo-Gothic style church. It was inaugurated in 1894, replacing a church deemed too small and too fragile, which itself replaced an earlier church destroyed during the Vendée wars.

https://maps.app.goo.gl/kNsgMdjZB5vBLnMp9 This campsite is lovingly run, and the tent area is so cozy. Tent campers had their own little cabin with a microwave, kettle, emergency cutlery, and plates. A table and chairs were located under the cabin's awning (🌦️), and each tent pitch also had its own table with a parasol and four chairs. Céline is so welcoming. For latecomers like me, there were local food boxes (the Bolognese was delicious) that could be quickly warmed up in the microwave, and beer on tap. If you'd like, Céline also whipped up a breakfast :) Great energy at the campsite🔆

Very bright and simple interior. Beautiful stained glass windows.

A small but beautiful 16th-century church. Worth seeing is the lantern of the dead, which marks deaths in the parish, and a beautiful 17th-century altarpiece.
