A very popular pub in Aviemore. At weekends and during holidays book several days ahead for dinner. Large outdoor area if the weather is good. Great food and drinks.

The pass itself isn't particularly strenuous, but it's very open and can get very windy. The cycle path is also a patchwork of different roads.

From the main road, you can't see much of the castle, although the white building is immediately noticeable as soon as you pass through the greenery. To truly see the castle, you really have to visit it.

A super cool small suspension bridge with great views down over the river and surrounding countryside. An idyllic location for a stop on the bike.

This old road is now closed to motorized traffic, creating a quiet and wide cycle path on the south side of the Cairngorms. It's part of National Cycle Route 7, as well as the Cairngorms Loop. We cycled steadily downhill from west to east, allowing us to cycle smoothly towards Blair Athol.
