Passing Altenrode through the forest is magnificent! The proximity to the motorway isn't essential, but it's only a minor inconvenience.

The climb is a little hidden at first, but then it gets tough straight away. Little traffic and a really tough climb - that's perfect. Compared to the forest path towards Sternplatz, it's much steeper and more nasty, but it also has its advantages.

In terms of surface and traffic, a good alternative to the stretch of road in the Innerstetal. The scenery is also more beautiful and the descent to Wolfshagen is 1a👌
