R341沿いの地質学的な傑作。このビーチは砂ではなく、石灰質の海藻（マール）の化石化した残骸でできており、真っ白な色と独特の質感を与えています。晴れた日には、ここの水は熱帯にいるかのように鮮やかなターコイズブルーに染まります。サイクリストにとって、靴を脱いで白い粒の上を歩くのに理想的な場所です。白いビーチ、黒い岩、そして深い青色の北大西洋のコントラストに注目してください。

Alcock and Brown flew non-stop across the Atlantic and (intentionally) crash-landed here as soon as land appeared 15 June 1919

With a tailwind it drives itself... few cars, lots of sheep... wonderful colors with sunshine, mystical and mysterious with fog.

The Connemara Greenway will eventually link Galway with Clifden for a traffic free ride along the course of the Connemara Railway. The line provided a vital link between Clifden and Connemara with the rest of Ireland as before this, all transport and imports/exports had to happen by sea which was especially difficult during the winter months. It was opened in 1895 and closed in 1935.

Pedalling over Bridge Street the Owenglin River tumbles beneath you on its way out to Clifden Bay.

The road passes right alongside Mannin Bay. A beach so beautiful, it's hard not to get off to go and have a closer look. The crystal clear waters are very inviting, it's easy to see why it's sometimes called the Irish Seychelles.
