The chapel belongs ecclesiastically to the parish community of Holy Spirit Augsburg-Hochzoll, but politically it is part of Friedberg. It was closed in June 2020 due to the risk of collapse and, after a three-year complete renovation, was officially reopened by Bishop Dr. Bertram Meier on September 8, 2023. Since then, prayers have been offered there regularly – every Thursday from 5:30 p.m. with the Rosary and evening Mass.

The Wittelsbach Friedberg Castle was built around 1257 as a medieval castle and rebuilt in the Renaissance style after a fire in 1541. It served as a hunting lodge, widow's residence and later as a faience factory and forestry office. Since 1886 it has housed the Friedberg Museum, which reopened in 2019 after extensive renovation (2015–2018). It presents the history of the castle and the town with a focus on Friedberg clocks and faience. The castle now serves as a cultural and event center with historical rooms and a picturesque castle courtyard. The castle park invites you to linger.

The Maria Alber pilgrimage chapel is a baroque central building in the west of the city of Friedberg, Bavaria. It was built in 1694 and contains a replica of the Altötting image of grace. The chapel was built after the Bavarian customs officer Arnold Schwenkh placed a copy of the Altötting image of grace in a hollow tree trunk in 1686, which led to the creation of a pilgrimage. The chapel is characterized by its four apses with a lantern dome. Four semicircular apses are attached to the square central space, giving the impression of a round building. Pilasters divide the structure inside and out. Particularly noteworthy is the curved gable in the west, between whose pilasters the two bells hang openly in round arches - an arrangement that is more common in southern Europe. Inside the chapel there is an altar from 1700 with an altarpiece depicting the Holy Trinity. The angel figures on the gables are attributed to the sculptor Bartholomäus Eberl. The four angels next to the tabernacle with the miraculous image were probably created by the Friedberg sculptor and goldsmith August Niggl in 1767. The chapel has been renovated several times, most recently extensively in 1988. It is open again for worship and viewing. Due to its location between Augsburg and Friedberg, the pilgrimage chapel belongs ecclesiastically to the parish of Heilig-Geist Augsburg-Hochzoll and Friedberg-West, but politically to the city of Friedberg. The Maria Alber pilgrimage chapel is an important example of baroque sacred architecture in Bavaria and a place of Marian veneration.
