The i2030 project is actively promoting the upgrade of the Prignitz Express (RE6). Several sub-measures are planned. One of these is the infrastructure expansion between Velten and Neuruppin. Anyone who once wanted to go to Neuruppin had to pass through one of the four city gates in the medieval city wall. The Rheinsberger Gate indicates the direction in its name - this is the way to Rheinsberg. And so the tower, built in 1914, was also modeled on that of Rheinsberg Castle.

Rheinsberger Tor station is basically Neuruppin's main station and is beautifully designed with its tower (unfortunately defaced with graffiti in the photo). Neuruppin West station is less busy but very sober - but it is definitely an alternative as a starting point by bike.
