The memorial consists of a stone base with a cast-iron sarcophagus, surmounted by a delicate, column-supported cast-iron canopy. Louise of Mecklenburg-Strelitz died on July 19, 1810, at Hohenzieritz Palace at the age of 34. Her final burial was to take place in Charlottenburg.
