The Dämeritzsee is located in the southeast of Berlin and is half in the Berlin city area and the other half in the state of Brandenburg. The city border runs almost exactly from south-southwest to north-northeast through the water. The Berlin-Rahnsdorf locality of Hessenwinkel (Treptow-Köpenick district) borders the lake to the north and west, while the town of Erkner (Oder-Spree district) borders the lake to the east and south.
