The renaturalization project was only effectively completed at this location in 2025. Before that, it was "nice," but nothing more. Today, at least here, one can get an impression of what the Nidda might originally have looked like. A little further downstream towards Höchst, there is also a more natural stretch – otherwise, unfortunately, it's still a very straightened river, yet still one of the most beautiful sections in Frankfurt.

The Nidda is a river in Hesse. It rises in the Vogelsberg mountains and flows for approximately 90 kilometers before emptying into the Main River at Wörthspitze, on the border between the Frankfurt districts of Höchst and Nied, with an average flow rate of about 13 m³/s.

Siegfried Fiets' sculpture park, located next to the railway line, provides a somewhat different atmosphere. I was able to admire the various stone and wooden sculptures completely free of charge. The expansive grounds offer opportunities for everyone.
