The Aarhus Å, which gave the street its name, was built over in the 1920s when a thoroughfare for heavy goods traffic through the city to the port industries was needed. Constantinsborg is a manor on the southern shore of Årslev Engsø. It has existed since at least 1400. The manor was originally known as Stadsgaard but was later renamed after Constantin Marselis who owned the estate in the 1600s. Today it's privately owned and run as a farm.
