The Benton MacKaye Trail crosses the Toccoa River on a long suspension bridge, one of the highlights of the route. It’s a peaceful spot to rest by the water, listen to the current, and enjoy the surrounding forest before continuing on.

The Blue Ridge Wildlife Management Area is a 20,900-acre nature preserve. It is mostly mountainous, with several peaks within its borders. There are many hiking trails and dirt roads available for you to enjoy.

The Stanley Gap Trail is a popular trail in Rich Mountain Wildlife Management Area. The trail winds through beautiful woodlands and if you follow it all the way up to the peak of Rocky Mountain, then it is a challenging walk. The trail also connects to the Flat Creek Loop Trail.

Springer Mountain is essentially a small rocky plateau with a few views, known for being the southern end of the Appalachian Trail. The trail from Amicalola Falls State Park is beautiful. Camping is not permitted on the summit plateau, but the Springer Mountain Shelter is just 600 feet to the north.

The Long Branch Loop in Chattahoochee-Oconee National Forest is a trail that creates a short loop on both sides of the Long Branch waterway. A connector trail on the northern side of the loop gives you access to trails that offer views of Lake Blue Ridge. This is a great, short trail for beginner riders or just something fun to tack onto a longer ride.

The Blue Ridge Wildlife Management Area is a nearly 21,000-acre property with offerings of hunting lands, hiking trails, forest roads, and US Forest Service managed facilities. All the roads and trails within the property boundaries are managed by the Forest Service and are top-notch facilities. This is a great place to rip some dirt and gravel roads while creating different sized loops. You have lots of tire choices (depending on your comfort and ability levels) when riding out here.

Long Creek Falls makes for a beautiful spot to rest and snack, enjoy some shade, and cool off.

From up next to the falls, you can get views of some of the mountain peaks in the Cohutta Wilderness. Views from the base are of the cascades making up the falls and the large pool at the bottom. The strength of the falls is based on the season, but the spring and summer months always seem to have a decent flow of water.
