The Wayne Naillon Memorial Rest Area is a small picnic area on the Crown Zellerbach Trail. It was created in memory of Wayne Naillon, an integral member of the team that helped to set up the Crown Zellerbach Trail. There is a commemorative sign for Wayne at this spot as well.

You get nice views of the Cowlitz River along the Riverfront Trail. This spot is a good place to enjoy the view as there is a bench on the banks of the river.

The Riverfront Trail is a popular urban greenway trail that follows the Cowlitz River. It is paved and completely flat, so it is a great place for a relaxed walk.

One of several bridges that cross over Lake Sacajawea. This bridge will take you to the other side of the park, while there is another bridge further along the trail that brings you to a small island in the middle of the lake.

Lake Sacajawea Park is a popular park for fishing, canoeing and picnicking. There are several miles of walking trails in the park that go around the perimeter of the lake.

The riverbed in the valley was part of the volcanic eruption at that time. The mud masses and pyroclastic flows wallowed here to the west. In the background you can see the volcano in good weather.
