A nice regional trail that tucks in and out of the woods

Nice park with lots of woods and snakey bike paths.

Sucker Lake is part of the Saint Paul Regional Water Service's and is connected to the East Vadnais Lake. It is encircled by a hiking trail, that partially leads through the woods and provides great vistas of the lake.

The St. Anthony Parkway Bridge crosses over the busy BNSF Northtown Rail Yard. Originally built in 1925 as a five-span Warren truss bridge, it was replaced in 2016 with a modern steel truss structure that honors its historic predecessor. Today, the bridge includes an interpretive plaza with preserved truss elements and great views of the rail yard, providing an insight into the area's industrial history.

The Rice Creek Regional Trail near Mounds View is split into a northern and a western section. The northern section follows the name-giving Rice Creek and encircles two little ponds while passing through woodlands and open meadows.

This section of Mississippi River Trail goes under the South Ferry Street Bridge. Close by, there is a boardwalk if you want to have a closer look to the river.

The bike path features this lovely bridge over Elm Creek. As you ride along Maple Grove Arboretum, you get an up-close view of the beautiful trees that line the 15-acre park, especially in autumn when the leaves change.

Medicine Lake Regional Trail is a 21-mile paved rails-to-trails path from Medicine Lake to Elm Creek Park Reserve. The trail connects to 3 more parks along the way.
