This trail climbs out from the Albee and Bull Creek confluence up to Peavine Ridge Road. It's a multi-use trail so you'll likely encounter mountain bikers and horse riders.

The Plaza, with its lawns and flowerbeds, is the social and commercial center of Arcata. Charming shops selling locally handcrafted goods, sporting goods, boutiques, and restaurants line the Plaza and the streets beyond. Arcata is a college town with particularly interesting bookstores and coffeehouses. Stop at Arcata Artisans on the Plaza. Don't miss Jacoby's Storehouse. This restored historic building features shops and a delightful central area where you can sit, enjoy an ice cream cone or a snack, and relax.

Right next to the Tolkan Campground is an excellent mountain bike park that suits riders of all skill levels.

It it a grueling climb that leads you to a ridge. After traversing the ridge a fun descent with jumps and other technical challenges awaits you. Back at the trailhead you will have a big grin in your face and agree that this loop is a must-do ride for every advanced mountain biker traveling in northern California.

The Tolkan Campground is located right next to the Paradise Royale Loop. Why don't you just stay overnight? The campground sites are non-reservable and available on a first come first serve basis. The Pacific Rim trail is part of the Paradise Royale Trail System. It is tough climb though, but once you made it to the top, you will be rewarded with magnificent views of the Pacific Ocean and a great downhill!
