Chapin Park features a wide, crushed gravel walking path that circles around the property and travels right up to the side of the river. There is a dog park and a lot of open space popular for flying model planes and kites.

The most southern section of the Arkansas River Trail actually hops on the other side of the river than the rest of the path. It crosses over the Arkansas River on a pretty cool pedestrian bridge before continuing north into the city. The southern section seems to be a little less crowded than its counterpart.

The Keeper of the Plains is a 44-foot tall steel sculpture standing at the point where the Big and Little Arkansas rivers join together in downtown Wichita. The land is home to the Mid-America All-Indian Museum. There are two pedestrian bridges allowing people to cross from the both directions.
