From the rock massif at the Knapelid lookout point, there is a wide and fantastic view over the Rottnen, the fourth largest lake in the Kronoberg province with an area of almost 33 square kilometers. Knapelid is located near Bodaholm, about 5 kilometers north of Linneryd and can be reached easily and, above all, without a strenuous ascent from the road. On the west side below the viewpoint is the lake Tomtsjön, which is picturesquely embedded between steep banks. A beautiful circular hiking trail leads around the lake, which is only around 900 meters long and is connected to the Rottnen by a short canal. At the beginning of the 20th century there was a mooring at Tomtsjön, from which a steamboat line ran through the canal to Hovmantorp at the northern end of the Rottnen for over 40 years.
