The Mount Jefferson View on the Blue Ridge Parkway is situated at Milepost 266.8. The mountain is tall enough that you can see it in the distance, but the overgrowth near the viewing area blocks off any views that once existed of the lower foothills.

The trail (from the cabins to Devil Garden) is currently only accessible for about 700 meters. After that, it is littered with fallen trees. Avoiding it is not possible. However, other trails, such as Bluff Mountain, lead from the parking lot. This trail is cleared and very beautiful. You can also follow the signs. It's impossible to get lost.

Brinegar Cabin is located at Milepost 238.5 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. It's a restored structure offering history about homesteading and the surrounding landscape from the late 1800s. It's easy to start reading all the informational signs and walking around the short paths near the parking area, making this a great place to visit after a bike ride on the parkway.

The Jumpinoff Rock Trail parking area is located at mile marker 260.3 on the Blue Ridge Parkway. The trail is pretty short and super easy to follow, so you can expect to see other people out if you decide to tack the short hike onto your bike ride. The main overlook is on the trail, but there is a pretty great overlook just from the parking area, as well.

This is a really pretty section along the Blue Ridge Parkway. A lot of the road is tucked in the trees until you get to pull-offs, but a good bit of this part is open with continuous views as you ride.

Elk Mountain Overlook is located at Milepost 274.3 on the Blue Ridge Parkway and faces directly southeast, so be prepared for the sunrise to be shining in your eyes if you pass by first thing in the morning. You are likely to be above the clouds if you do pass by early in the morning, so it's a pretty fair tradeoff to have that cloud inversion.

The Lewis Fork Overlook is not one of the most popular stops on the Blue Ridge Parkway simply because of how overgrown it has become. This viewpoint at Milepost 270.2 is great for looking at rolling ridgelines with a forest setting in the foreground, but all views of the actual river (Lewis Fork) are completely blocked by trees.
