The original Vereins Kirche, which served as a church, school, and community meeting place, stood in the middle of Main Street from 1847 until its demolition in 1897. The current replica, completed in 1935 through a collaboration between the Gillespie County Historical Society and the Works Progress Administration (WPA), now preserves this rich heritage.

The National Museum of the Pacific War offers a thorough and immersive exploration of World War II's Asiatic-Pacific theater. Dedicated to Admiral Nimitz's legacy, the museum honors those who served in the Pacific War by presenting detailed narratives, personal stories, and authentic artifacts. Visitors can explore this rich history Wednesday through Monday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, with the museum closed on Tuesdays. Admission for adults is $24.
