The flagship of the city, founded in 1761, is the impressive building of the elite Dartmouth University. But even beyond that, Hanover exudes its very own charm with its location on the Connecticut River, interesting museums, theaters, cafés and restaurants. The long-distance Appalachian Trail runs directly through Hanover and tempts hikers to stay longer.

Baker Pond is a peaceful lake surrounded by a vibrant green forest, with beautiful fall colors. The pond covers an area of 35 acres, and it is easily accessed from the road, with a gravel ramp for boat access. The access to the pond is an open area and can be a nice place to take a break. This pond belongs to the Vermont Fish & Wildlife Department and it is a popular destination for fishing.

The view of Coffin Pond is spectacular with the hills rising behind it in the distance. The road passes right next to the pond, giving you the chance to spot any wildlife inhabiting the area around it.

The Edgell Covered Bridge was built in 1885 in Lyme, New Hampshire, right near the border with Vermont. This historic bridge spans Clay Creek and is one of only 58 remaining covered bridges in the state; it's an amazing piece of history to ride through!

The Lyme–East Thetford Bridge, situated across the Connecticut River linking Lyme, New Hampshire, and East Thetford, Vermont, gained recognition and was enlisted in the National Register of Historic Places in the year 2020 due to its historical significance.

Lake Morey is a natural freshwater lake located just west of the Connecticut River in the town of Fairlee. This 545 acre lake is largely surrounded by forested hills and is an absolute pleasure to cycle past especially in the fall when the colours are rich and golden. The views out over the lake through its tree lined shore is simply sublime.

This little community beach is a nice spot for swimming. It's usually open through late August and on Labor Day weekend, although if weather permits it may be open later; they're good about posting updates on their Facebook page. Admission is usually $5 for residents, or $7 for non-residents.

Reeds Marsh is an open pond and marshland situated alongside the Connecticut River in New Hampshire. The marshland hosts a diverse range of bird species and is located just off the main road, meaning you can easily jump off your bike and have a quick explore before continuing your journey.
