If you’re going to the campsite try to pack light. You gain elevation pretty consistently so a good pair of hiking boots are worth it. The trail is a gorgeous green corridor that sports a variety of wildflowers in warmer months, The path is rocky like the bed of a creek and can be a little muddy after heavy rain. This is a great way to descend as it is a little easier than the other trails that climb up to Old Mac and Chimney Top.
