The Fitzgerald Lake Conservation Area is made up of varied habitats like upland forest, marshes, pastures and Fitzgerald Lake. It's a great place to canoe and kayak, or explore the landscapes on the trail network.

Look Memorial Park was established in memory of Frank Newhall Look. His wife, Fannie, gifted land and development funds for the park. The park opened to the public in 1930.

The Norwottuck Rail Trail is a part of an extensive network of connecting multi-use paths connecting the towns of Amherst, Belchertown, Easthampton, Florence, Hadley, Southampton, and Williamsburg. This section of Norwottuck Rail Trail is the southernmost section in South Amherst where it ends at Warren Wright Road. This is a great section of trail where you pass through pine and oak forests, wetlands, and can glimpse some of the local mountains through the trees. You might also catch a glance at a train that runs on an adjacent railroad.

The auto road is open to cyclists in the spring, summer, and early fall, and great views of the Pioneer Valley and the Connecticut River as you climb. At the top, there are overlooks with benches, and several picnic tables with panoramic views for you to rest and relax at before beginning your descent. There are also bathrooms as well as the historic Summit House, which used to be a hotel.
