This Almohad-era castle, now devoid of walls and decoration, is built on an octagonal plan atop a high crag south of the town, on a summit difficult to access. It lacks a keep, towers, and external defenses, perhaps due to its reconstruction during the Christian era, which only preserved the wall, omitting any other defensive elements beyond the rugged terrain on which it stands.

PR-CR 91 Guadalupe Trail, between Horcajo de los Montes (Ciudad Real) and the village of El Bohonal. It forms part of the 12 historic routes leading to the Monastery of Guadalupe, known as the "Cabañeros Trail," connected to Alcoba de los Montes, and totals 124 km in sections.

The BA-050, also known as the Anchuras road, crosses the upper reaches of Cabañeros National Park along the Estena River basin. It traverses ridges and rocky outcrops dominated by Mediterranean forest, with alternating holm oaks, cork oaks, and gall oaks. The road crosses the upper course of the Estena River, allowing drivers to enjoy the riverbed through pine and oak forests without leaving the main road.

A hill southwest of the town center, in the heart of the Sierra de la Dehesilla mountain range, and is easily identifiable by the presence of a telecommunications tower visible from several points in the surrounding area.

Bohonal de los Montes, a hamlet belonging to Helechosa de los Montes in the La Siberia Extremeña region, is a remote and charming corner surrounded by unspoiled nature, ideal for hiking, disconnecting and rural tourism.
