The Mirnserklif on the IJsselmeer is a popular spot for kitesurfers, kite flyers, and beachgoers. The cliff was formed during the penultimate ice age, when shifting ice from Scandinavia shaped the Gaasterland landscape. The Mirnserklif has been a favorite lookout spot for centuries. Until the 1960s, the cliff formed a single entity with the Rijsterbos forest. The wide road constructed at that time bisects the natural monument. To the left of the cliff lies a walking path called "Freuleleantsje," specially constructed for the Lady Van Swinderen, who lived at Slot Rijs at the time. A small dome has been erected there since 2023, and you can also enjoy the view over the water from the pavilion's terrace.

Tsjûkemar is an inland lake in the Dutch province of Friesland on the edge of the province of Overijssel and the largest body of water in the so-called Friese Meren. It used to be just a shallow lake with no special tourist attractions. With a fixed bridge in the south (towards Lemmer), the Tsjûkemar ends in the north with one of the few remaining motorway lift bridges (towards Joure). The clearance height of the fixed bridge can block larger sailors. The towns of Echtenerbrug, Delfstrahuizen, Vierhuis and Oosterzee are located on the lake. There are also a few campsites. Echtenerbrug and Delfstrahuizen are separated by the Christaansloot pier. This is part of a small part of an old peat route that leads to the Tsjûkemar and is now equipped with many moorings. This is also where the exit towards the province of Overijssel is located. In the southwest, the exit leads over the Follegasloot to Groote Brekken and to Lemmer. Very nice cycle paths, swimming opportunities. Great nature.

The Langweerderwielen (Frisian: Langwarder Wielen) is an elongated lake south of the Sneekermeer in the municipality of De Friese Meren. It is about three kilometers long, one kilometer wide and becomes increasingly narrower towards the northeast. The northeastern tip of the lake is called Oudeweg. The lake has connections on the west side with the Prinses Margrietkanaal and the Koevordermeer, on the southeast side with the Tjeukemeer via the Scharsterrijn and on the north side with the Sneekermeer via the Noorder Oudeweg or via the Prinses Margrietkanaal. There is a lot of recreational boating on the Langweerderwielen. There are marinas and holiday parks in Langweer and Boornzwaag. There is a beach on the lake at Langweer. Right next to the Langweerderwielen is the Put van Nederhorst, an enclosed 21 meter deep recreational lake with a beach. This lake near Boornzwaag is not part of the Langweerderwielen, but is a former sand pit. Great nature and fantastic cycling routes.

The Mirnser Klif is a boulder clay ridge in the Frisian region of Gaasterland south of the town of Mirns. The reef was created during the Saalien by advancing land ice and formed a natural sea defense against the water of the Zuiderzee and currently against the water of the IJsselmeer.
