Nice food stop at 17 miles

Lovely cosy cafe, well priced, lots of breakfast options as well as fresh home made cakes. Gets very busy over lunch, often booked up but a decent coffee stop in the morning.

The visitors centre is the hub of all the great things that take place at Stanwick Lake. Not only is there cycling, walking and running, but fishing, assualt courses and all manner of other adventures.

Part of the River Nene Regional Park, the lake is a lovely place to spin by or stop to admire the vies. There are loads of shared walking and biking paths to choose from, all good riding surface that is suitable for all tyre types.

Nice stone bridge on the edge of Thrapston spanning a nice section of the Nene. Some nice parkland and benches nearby to take a rest, or head into Thrapston for pubs and shops.

Nice pit stop

Spanning 144 acres (58 ha) of tranquil parkland, picturesque lakes and vibrant water meadows, Harrold-Odell Country Park is a wonderful place for a hike. Owned and managed by Bedford Borough Council, facilities include a cafe, toilets and an information centre. The park is home to its own local nature reserve, which features a wide variety of birds and mammals, including bats, otters and shrews. There's a boardwalk that looks over the Dragonfly Pond and two bird hides that allow you to get closer to the action. The River Great Ouse forms the park's eastern perimeter.

You can't help but pass through the area on the way to Lyveden via a disused Railway Track. You can park there but there is a charge, which is why we park where the ride starts. However, there is a visitor centre there and you can get food and drink and toilets are available.
