Established as a lighthouse in 1912, Rubha Rèidh is situated on the northern tip of this Wester Ross peninsula close by the entrance to Loch Ewe, north of Gairloch. It was originally proposed by David Stevenson in 1854. It can be reached by a minor road wher vehicular access is permitted beyond the public road end. The lighthouse is now available to stay in.

This is a brilliant stop off for a refreshment. Great pizza and just what we needed!

Beautiful Scottish beach, well worth a visit

It’s worth to go from the lighthouse also to the Jetty. This was the old area where the lighthouse supplies were landed.

All these circuits are absolutely not suitable for cycling because the road traffic is intense !!!!

Beautiful bay with pedestrian access overlooking Gruinard Island.

Beautiful view of Little Gruinard. This small settlement lies on the southern shore of Gruinard Bay. The Little Gruinard River enters the bay here while, across in bay to the north, lies the island of Gruinard.

Beautiful expansive sandy beach situated on Loch Gairloch

Beautifu and unspoilt beach - typical of this area. White sand and blue water, you'd never think you're in Scotland! Great place to stop for a paddle or a swim.

Nice view down to Gairloch beach. It's easy to get down to the sand if you wish, or you can just enjoy the view from above.

Truly amazing sunsets from this beach. It's beautiful at anytime of the day but it's well worth trying to time your ride to pass by here around sunset. Be warned after the beach heading back inland the tarmac runs out and the road becomes gravel for about 10km. It's ridable on a road bike if you like that sort of thing.

Some of the best views you'll find in the UK. Loch Tollie is the large body of water next to the road.
