A super cool small suspension bridge with great views down over the river and surrounding countryside. An idyllic location for a stop on the bike.

Beautiful dramatic rock formations

A bouncy bridge, sans gates, that's part of the national cycle route. An interesting waypoint just because it's a bit different.

Excellent views west along the strath with Mount Schiehallion off to the WSW.

The loch northside road offers, in places, excellent scenic views over the loch and valley. Don't forget to visit the southside single-lane road for an even more scenic and quiet cycle.

A loop of Loch Tummel is a most enjoyable ride. A recommendation is to go anticlockwise to avoid a steep upward hill climb on the south side. The northside road is a normal dual-lane - not dual-carriageway - road that's usually fairly quiet. The southside road is mainly singletrack and very quiet.

A wee hamlet with a nice pub. Access through the hamlet to Pitlochry Dam and the fish ladder or over the bouncy bridge into Pitlochry proper. The bouncy bridge is a designated cycleway.

Glorious views up to the dam. Interesting bridge with information signage. Best to push bike across and enjoy!

The waterfall produced as the Allt Mor burn spills down Meall Dubh is great. The crag is steppy and the pool below is very scenic. The waterfall is particularly good after snow melt or heavy rain.

A 15km long freshwater loch that's just over 1km wide and 130m deep. Loch Rannoch was once surrounded with old Caledonian pine forest; the Black Wood of Rannoch is one of the largest remnants of this ancient wood. The roads along both sides of the loch are quiet and fine to walk on with interesting adventures to be had north, south or west. Kinloch Rannoch at the eastern end of the loch is the largest settlement with pubs and a shop for supplies.

Probably best known for the ancient Yew tree in the church yard Fortingall is a small village in Glen Lyon. There are some nice short walks from the village or it's a good base to explore the Tay Forest Park to the south or the large area of highland south of Schiehallion.

Named after Queen Victoria stopped here in 1866 this viewpoint offers incredible views along Loch Tummel and up to Schiehallion. It's a busy place in the summer but worth a quick stop anyway and there are toilets and a cafe if you need them.

The B8019 along the northern shore of Loch Tummel is a nice road to ride. It's wide enough and not too busy with a good surface and amazing views. Check out the Queens viewpoint near the eastern end where Queen Victoria stopped to admire the scenery. The loch has a road all around it so you can do a full circuit, the southern shore road is smaller and a big rougher but absolutely rideable.

The B846 runs along the River Tay from Aberfeldy, just north of Kenmore at the head of Loch Tay it turns north and starts climbing. This is the road climb that follows the Keltney Burn and the course of General Wade's military road up to Loch Kinardochy. You start at 97m in the valley and climb to about 380m over about 6.5km. The road surface is good and it's not particularly busy which makes it a great climb. Schiehallion at 1083m dominates the skyline to the left as you climb, it's a beautiful mountain to look at.

A nice wee stop of at a working smiddy with great artwork which can be seen around the surrounding area in many of the gardens etc

When you cycle along here, you never miss the dog. I just love it and it always makes me smile.

A very nice suspension bridge over the river. People love this bridge and in the summer it gets very busy with people taking photos of the nearby dam and fish ladder.
