If heading north on the Dava Way, this summit marker comes quite early in the route, but isn't actually the true high point - the track climbs gently for another kilometre or so.

Straight Ahead and follow signs - Do not go right, dead end at private cottages.

Don't blink or you will miss it. It doesn't feel like a summit. Go there and you will see what I mean.

Not actually half way but a fascinating little building with loads of interesting information inside. Nice place to shelter awhile if the weather is bad.

Lovely road running alongside Lochindorb with excellent views. It can get a little bump in places.

The Dava Way is a long distance cycling and walking trail which follows the old railway line from Forres to Grantown-on-Spey. It's about 38km in total. The surface is mostly left as gravel which is quite chunky in some sections but it's flat.

Enjoy the arrow-straight Dava Way and the incredible spaces either side as well as above you.

A lovely quiet place to contemplate what it might be like 'up there' in The Northern Cairngorms.

I've been to this spot a few times and the views in to the valley are always sensational, no matter the weather. This is really a truly secluded spot and the peace and tranquility is just perfect.

Nice ride with open views, the railway gravel can be a bit rough in places.

The sign says Dava. This is a great decision point, food break too. From here you can go on the Dava Way north or south. You can also get onto the road and then head across to the Limekilns traverse for spectacular views over the moor...

Dulsie bridge is a beautiful local landmark and a stunning spot to ride past. It's an 18th century bridge with a really stunning bit of river beneath. There's a picnic spot on the south side of the bridge which is a great place to stop and have a look from the viewpoint.

Beautiful climb out of the Drynachan valley and up through the trees.

Was difficult to find start in Forres, just on residential street, started from Dallas Dhu instead. Gradual uphill gradient most of way to Grantown. Much quicker on way back. Would recommend wide tyres as sections are rough with the railway stones.

The disused railway runs between Forres and Grantown on Spey. This is the summit with lots of interpretive boards and even a wee museum!
