And it is always windy up on the moor road and most of the times it is a brisk head wind, regardless of if you go south or north. The wind always knows you are coming and switches direction to greet you in the face. 😉😳☺️😰

Gladhouse Reservoir, at 460 acres (186 hectares), is the largest freshwater area in the Lothians. The views from this little inlet are particularly nice into the middle of the reservoir, and the roads are super good. On a good day, this is a proper little tree lined paradise to cycle through.

West Linton is an attractive village with beautiful ancient buildings and a lovely selection of cafés and restaurants, including the Olde Toll Tea House and The Old Bakehouse Restaurant. Perhaps one of the most interesting things about West Linton is that it's one of the oldest market settlements in Scotland.

Nice quiet road, which lends itself to some beautiful views. Don't try on a windy day, especially a headwind.

It is one of my favourite spots for views, whether on the bike or by car. Clear views of the Pentland Hills and South towards (not seen) Gladhouse Reservoir. If heading southbound, the road becomes very bumpy until a little past Mount Lothian. It's well worth a visit as part of a route and timing it to sunrise or sunset could be well worth it.
