This is a brilliant climb, not particularly steep, it's long, you can smell the pine as you ride up and the views are ... well, go and see for yourself ! Just Wow !

These should be on the OpenStreetMaps already but this one isn't, and the Scottish Water website says it's on the Square but it isn't. It's on the coastal side of the road next to the zebra crossing and the pedestrian entrance to the ferry terminal. Make sure you have enough gears. it's really steep.

Take a turn into this layby here at Jubilee Point for a great spot to hang out and enjoy the scenes of Lock Eck.

Rothesay Castle is in ruins, but has been described as "one of the most remarkable in Scotland", because of its long history dating back to the 13th century, and because of the unusual circular design.

Great views of Loch Striven from the road. You can see over to Bute on a clear day as you ride around the Loch.

Appreciate the mostly flat and well paved road alongside Loch Eck - hills await you on either side (it is Scotland after all!)

A unique gallery exhibiting and selling contemporary Scottish sculpture. The 20 acre estate, owned by the Scotland family, is a mixture of native woodland, landscaped gardens and natural rugged formations leading down to the beach, all dominated by spectacular views over the Kyles of Bute. Throughout the summer months a wide collection of sculpture is on display. This year our new exhibition is a combination of new artists such as David Cohen, David Collins and Ian Cook and returning artists Rob Mulholland, Tom Allan, Illona Morrice and Andrea Geile.

The Colintraive Community Garden lies behind the village hall, approximately a quarter of a mile east from the ferry terminal. The garden was created by the village community for the BBC’s Beechgrove Garden television programme in 2003 and has been maintained by residents ever since. The garden is open all year round and visitors can follow a range of paths through the colourful flowerbeds which include several exotic species. There are also dry-stone walls surrounding the garden and a picnic area and pond. The Heritage Centre is on the other side of the Village Hall. Set beside the Milton Burn it tells the story of the development of the village and its farming heritage in artifacts, pictures and film. It has been well received by visitors form all over the world and is open from May until the end of September.

Once a bulwark against invading Viking forces, the magnificent ruins of Rothesay Castle boast a long and close connection to the Stewart dynasty.

Amazing views across Holy Loch makes an ideal spot for a cafe stop.
