Lovely riding avenue.

The faded plaque above the pump house door is thought to read "Wexcombe Waterworks the gift of William Corbin Finch 1899". After a "cheeky" climb up Wexcombe (heading south). The brick built pump house makes for an intriguing short stop

Another climb but another great view.

Any climb is generally worth it for the views at the top, this is in the top few for a far reaching vista.

This beautiful arched viaduct carries the train line over the main road. It's a nice sight to look up at as you cycle by.

A really good local bakery. Just on the left into church road. Great selection of cakes and pies

A step back in time, riding through Wiltshire's common land

Be careful on the final descent, pothole in road on steep section. Hit that at speed and you could do some damage. Otherwise a very nice steady climb in two parts. Great views from the top.

Views views views! Worth the little push to get up there but you will be rewarded by the solitude and sights along the ridge.

The windmill can be visited on Sundays between 2 and 5 pm but only from Easter to September.

Heading North out of Collingbourne Ducis - steady and gradual but nice and quiet on the Wiltshire Cycleway

Be careful this lane isn't in the best condition. Some huge potholes, it's rideable but proceed with caution.

A long sustained false flat and gradual climb heading North out of Vernham Dean

Lovely little climb up to faccombe. Especially pretty in the autumn when the leaves are changing colour. Not a long climb, provably about 5 mibs of effort for most. Be careful if descending, pheasants and deer like to hang out around here. The pheasants can be Especially kamikaze at times.

Standing proud on the top of a hill in the midst of the rolling Wessex Downs, Wilton Windmill is the only working windmill in Wessex, still producing wholemeal, stone-ground flour. Visitors are welcome to view the mill at any time, however to go inside the windmill (paid entry) or cafe, seasonal opening hours apply.
