Motte and bailey (Norman cattle mound and moat ditch).

Starts off looking like a road but quickly turns to gravel. Much better and less rutted than Gilmorton Lane nearby. Don't let a dry ride in the summer fool you though, gets really mucky in wet weather and the pot hole puddles never seem to dry.

Follow cycle route at the roundabout to leave Lutterworth along the quieter Swinford Road.

I couldn't see much and wasn't sure what I saw anyway...

From the bridge there were so many yellow water lilies and reeds, wild life was abundant...

The statue is of the jet plane Whittle designed and built, years before its time.

The place hasn't changed in years and the roads are still bad for bikes...

In the distance is Standford Hall, with a campsite to one side and what looks like a deer park...

Views over Rugby with the cement works in the distance. At one time when new homes were built close by no children were allowed to live there the dust was so bad, covered washing when wind in wrong direction.

Don't see much traffic along here, seen lots of pheasant in the fields not peasants, the lovely coloured birds.
