considered to be one of the best examples of Stuart architecture in Dorset built in 1633 by Dorchester merchant John Gould on the site of Everards Manor in the vanished village of Frome Billet.

It's a wide road and gentle climb through the camp and surrounding heathlands - there's often some Army platform (Challengers, IFVs etc) visible through the wire or in the proving ground/training area, with plenty of places to stop and watch for a bit.

At peak or busy times these roads are rammed but worth a visit if you can time it right.

Be careful as it is unpaved. Passable on a road bike, and offers a good alternative to busy roads.

Nice stop. Can be very busy - good for watching hardy souls swim.

The Wise Man is a well regarded pub and a very pleasant stop alongside a quiet road. Good to watch the world go by when the sun is out.
