You can’t rely on British drivers to not kill you so get on the pavement between the quiet lanes if you want here.

Brandy Bottom Colliery, located just off the Bath-Bristol cycle path, was an important coal mining site in the 19th century, particularly known for its deep mine workings. The site features remnants of the colliery, including old structures and spoil heaps. It operated during a time of significant coal production in the area before eventually closing. Today, it serves as a historical point of interest along the cycling route, illustrating the region's industrial heritage

Pretty firm in summer, drains well in the spring/autumn. Can be a bit of a mudbath in winter. I've done it on a road bike many times but I would recommend 30mm tyres and above.

The gravel is a bit soft for road tyres but 32 up and you're fine.

Breakfast, brunch, coffee and snack stop.

3 small ramps followed by one pretty nasty one. Leave something left in the tank as the climb isn't over when you hit the Hinton Road. Excellent views in spring and dense foliage either side in summer.

A great alternative to the ring road track. The Pomphrey Hill end is a little muddy in winter, but nothing too bad. The other end is magnificent gravel and the middle compacted hardcore.

A nice highlight. Highly recommended

Not too deep and the surface is nice and smooth under the water... great fun!

A fairly short but superb gravel track.

When its dry this little trail is could be ridden on road bike with thin tyres, though best suited gravel bike or similar.

Great place to get up some speed to overtake the learner drivers. Uphill it's no challenge but good to get the blood flowing if you're heading out into the foothills of the Cotswolds.

Brilliant little cafe near the bike path in Pucklechurch opposite the church. Good seating outside for watching the world go by while you enjoy some delicious food or coffee.

A lovely quiet and narrow country lane that gets you off the busy main road and a good alternative to Engine Common Lane should it be closed (which it was today).

Just a nice traffic free way to get thru Yate. The south side is an old abandoned a road.

Proper history that. Not sure which part is meant to be ridden with an mtb, the bike path is fine with any bike you want
