Gunwade Lake at Ferry Meadows is a fantastic spot for a flat and scenic run. If you're a runner, I highly recommend checking it out! The path is wide and well-maintained, and you'll often see lots of other runners and walkers, making it a really friendly and motivating place to be. Cyclist-friendly cafe with outdoor seating. No specific bike parking although there's plenty of spots to prop a bike outside.

The stone bridge and high street are so pretty and peaceful it’s a bit of a shock to find you’re actually just a stone’s throw from two busy A roads. There is a slightly hidden bike path to take you under the A1 if you look for it.

One of our 2 favourite coffee stops in Oundle. Normally have a vegan cake option, sadly didn't on our last visit.

Standing tall above the serene River Nene sits the ruins of this fascinating historic site, Fotheringay Castle. Explore medieval history and enjoy beautiful landscape views as you wander around.

Part of Nene Park, Ferry Meadows is a hive of activity and relaxation. Gunwade Lake, Overton and Lynch Lake make for a beautiful setting for a run, not far from the centre of Peterborough. There is a cafe, bus stops and car parking so it also makes for a good start/end point for a run along the River Nene.

Gunwade Lake in Ferry Meadows is a popular place for outdoor activity. Kayaks and canoes are available to hire, there is a 400m open water swimming loop and highly renowned fishing. There is also a cafe by the car park, The Lakeside Kitchen & Bar.
