Pico de Noez, in the Sierra de Noez mountain range (municipality of Noez, Toledo), reaches an altitude of 1034 meters, making it the highest point in the central part of the province. It stands in isolation south of the Tagus River plain, within the Montes de Toledo mountain range. At the summit, there is a geodetic marker and a compass rose carved in granite, with inscriptions from the surrounding villages (Pulgar, Polán, Guadamur, etc.).

Guadamur Castle, located in the Toledo town of the same name, is one of the best-preserved fortresses in Castilla-La Mancha and an outstanding example of 15th-century stately architecture.

This fortress is a magnificent, well-preserved example of the fifteenth-century residential castles found in the province of Toledo. Currently inhabited, we can tour its exterior, appreciating the aesthetic result of the influences of Italian art in its architecture.

Its history is a mystery, but news arrives from the year 1116, during a battle between the Christians of Toledo and the Muslims of Oreja. Warden Farax Abdalí was defeated near the Christian castle of Polán, which was perhaps under construction at the time.

It is well worth stopping in this town, even if it is just to admire the Church of Santiago and, especially, the Palacio de Gramáticos, an old palace that was converted into a Grammar School, being a precursor of the institutes.

The castle of Polán is a medieval fortification in the north of the urban area and its state is dilapidated. The best preserved part is a façade broken in its center, which leaves two strong towers on both sides, whose connecting wall has disappeared.

Magnificent fortress, well preserved, and an example of 15th century residential castles. It has a very interesting history and a visit is highly recommended. Guided tours: only Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

From its top at 1034 meters above sea level you can see beautiful views of the entire plain and the Montes de Toledo. Throughout the entire ascent route you will be able to enjoy some very picturesque panoramic views, the silhouette of the Sierra Layos to the northeast stands out.
