ルートの始まりにある魅力的な場所

The origins of this town are Celtic, but in its streets you can see remains of its Roman and Andalusian past and as a refuge for bandits from the Costa del Sol. It has been rebuilt several times, mainly after the earthquake of 1775 that caused it to be severely affected.

El Burgo is a city steeped in history. This city was even given a special privilege under the Romans because it was directly on the soldiers' marching path

The road jumps over the hills of Cerro de Carrasco and goes down to the town of Tolox, with narrow and steep streets. You have to go through the urban complex going up through the Plaza de la Constitución and Calle Calvario up to the upper part of the farmhouse. On the outskirts there is a crossroads with the indication of the rural hotel Cerro de Hijar, which serves as a reference in the first part of the climb. The path passes the entrance to the accommodation and continues up the main track.

This recreational area is starred by the great waterfall of the Molinos River, which runs all its way from Sierra Blanca and joins, once past the municipality of Istán, with Río Verde. It is a perfect setting to take a break.

Tolox is a small town of 2,300 inhabitants whose history dates back to the Neolithic. In addition, there are remains that show the presence of Romans and Arabs in this area. Within the municipality of Tolox is the Torrecilla peak, which with 1919 meters of altitude, is the highest in the Sierra de las Nieves.

It is a fantastic viewpoint located next to the Tolox town hall. It offers magnificent views of the town and the Sierra de las Nieves. Don't forget to make a wish you are here!
