Actually, that is the door to the recreational area called La Aliseda, where there are barbecues, a pool of water for bathing and even a small bar that is usually open in summer.

This viewpoint is located about 600 meters outside the municipality of Santa Elena. It is worth looking out and getting a small sample of the beautiful Despeñaperros natural park. This gorge traced by the river of the same name is part of Sierra Morena and only has one population center: Santa Elena.

Also in clear relation with the agricultural past of the population, the flour mills were built fundamentally in colonial times, taking advantage of the fluvial courses.

This element is found in the town of Aldeaquemada, on the route that goes down from the so-called Plaza de Armas to the pool formed by the Cimbarra waterfall. It is an extraordinary mill since it is located in the middle of the hillside at a level very similar to that of the waterfall from which it was fed by a small channel dug into the rock.

It is hard to get to it, wherever you go you always have a steep slope, but if you have a minimum of sensitivity you will be able to perceive the energy that flows from that ground that for generations witnessed skirmishes and various outcomes. Breathing that air, smelling, looking and thinking…makes some submerge in a different stage. It's definitely worth going up there and sitting in absolute silence and listening to nature! 😊
