From here you can see part of the reservoir and the town. It's a good place to park and start cycling routes.

Swimming in this river is a highly recommended and unique experience. During the summer months, there is a fee to enter (unless you stay overnight at a Montanejos accommodation). There is also a charge for parking in the roadside lot. Outside of peak season, both access and parking are free.

Beautiful village with wonderful bathing spots

The lagoon used to have a lot of water. Unfortunately, it is now used to irrigate the surrounding truffle plantations that were established a few years ago. As a result, the water level continues to drop. Pretty sad when you know what it looked like there before. The lack of rain is also making things worse. When the sun goes down, it looks very beautiful there. Red earth and sometimes Caribbean blue water.

Get close to the river bank and don't miss the views

Picnics are not allowed on site. In April it was relatively empty, parking was free. It is probably very crowded in summer.
