Calera y Chozas, in the province of Toledo, is an ideal destination for those looking to combine nature, history, and active tourism.

Despite having only about 350 inhabitants, Santa Ana de Pusa undoubtedly stands out for its numerous and original popular festivals. Beginning on January 20 with the Fiesta de los Perros, the celebrations continue at Easter with the Burning of Judas and have their maximum expression in their patron saint festivities dedicated to Santa Ana in the month of July. There is also a festival called El Cristo in mid-September.

Calera y Chozas is a Toledo municipality located between the Tagus River and the Tiétar Valley. In its town center you will find the beautiful church of San Pedro Apóstol as well as several accommodations, restaurants and shops.

The term Calera is due to the stone quarries to make lime that existed in the area. The name Calera y Chozas was given when Calera joined the town of Las Chozas de Talavera. There is an abundant and varied fauna and vegetation in the area. The Greenway route starts on the same platform as the railway station.

The small and quiet town of Calera y Chozas is well known among cyclists for one of the stops on the Camino Real de Guadalupe and at the same time it is the place where the Vía Verde de la Jara begins, which runs along the Tagus River through a beautiful landscape.

This area of the Pusa river known as the "Narrowness" has been used in the past with mills that, although they are currently in ruins, I recommend visiting them since the landscape is very picturesque.
