On the French Way, especially before Villamayor de Monjardin, there is the fountain "Fuente de los Moros" (Fountain of the Moors). This fountain is characterized by its two Gothic arches with a roof and is a popular destination for pilgrims. It is located on the first stage of the French Way, from Puente la Reina to Villamayor de Monjardin.

A small, cool oasis in the heat. There's a bench in front with a great view of the landscape. Perfect place for a snack.

A very nice little place with a beautiful church that is definitely worth a visit

I would like to point out the hostel which is within walking distance and which also has a shop where you can find many practical things for pilgrims in small packages.

You discover so many different architectural styles and building designs on the Way of St. James. Here, it is actually octagonal. But the fact that pilgrims are charged entrance fees is almost embarrassing.

You can see this place in front of you for a long time and think that this must be Torres del Rio - the destination of the stage. But no, the path leads elegantly past it right in front of you and then a little further up to Torres.
