Piornal is the highest village in Extremadura and one of the best natural viewpoints for viewing the cherry blossoms. It also offers its own organized routes during the Cherry Blossom Festival. The most well-documented route starting directly from Piornal is the one organized by the Jerte Valley Sports Promotion Association.
