The urban area of Maderuelo has been declared a site of cultural interest due to its magnificent state of conservation. The town extends elongated on a promontory and preserves the medieval wall and some of the entrance doors. Currently, it stands over the Linares del Arroyo reservoir and the views are incredible.

This path runs through the south of what is called the Linares del Arroyo Reservoir and after a couple of kilometers you can see the shore of the same swamp, where depending on the time of year there are more or less water!

Surrounded by an extensive juniper forest and rolling close to the Hoces del Riaza, we come across the beautiful Sanctuary of Nuestra Señora de Hornuez. A place in the middle of nature that transmits peace and tranquility.

Beautiful medieval town on the Linares River Reservoir.

The Linares reservoir is in a natural environment of special beauty and the Riaza gorges, less famous than those of the Duratón, can be traveled by MTB or on foot along the path that leaves from Montejo de la Vega de la Serrezuela to Maderuelo. Opposite Maderuelo, the hermitage of Vera Cruz is located at the foot of the reservoir, in an area with a beach and picnic tables, perfect for recharging your batteries.
