The Mijares River rises at an altitude of 1,600 m in the Sierra de Gúdar mountain range, part of the Iberian System. The Mijares forms a 4,028 km² valley basin. After 156 km, the river flows into the Mediterranean Sea at Valencia.

At the confluence of the Júcar and Cabriel rivers lies the Cofrentes Castle (restored) with beautiful views of the Embarcaderos Lake.

The 11th century castle was built on the Cerro Agres volcano and on the banks of the Cabriel River. It can be visited by appointment at the tourist office.

From here you have beautiful views of the Benagéber reservoir and its dam, which retains the waters of the Turia. It has become an environment frequented in summer by those who seek to cool off in its waters surrounded by nature.

This stretch of road is a real blast. From Requena in the direction of Cofrentes, the route runs down a paved surface in excellent condition, allowing us to appreciate wonderful views until we reach Casas del Rio.

One of the road ports in the Utiel-Requena region. Very picturesque climb and without too much physical demand despite the accumulated unevenness. The surface is of good quality which makes it very pleasant to roll
