However, the asphalt is poor, so I recommend choosing the direction from Bunyola to Orient for the climb. The descent from Orient to Alaro is then much easier and safer!

From both sides a great ascent as well as descent. The road is very nicely maintained, there are many hairpin bends and the road is mostly empty (especially in early spring). At the top, you can always linger in the small restaurant.

The summit and the passages in front of it are probably one of the main reasons why bikers come to the island. Very rewarding climbs which are not that difficult to drive. less than 10% and very feasible thanks to the curves.
