This dirt road/trail follows the crest of these mountains and gives you beautiful views of the valley. Along the way you will pass some large antennas. Once at the top there are only a few small trails to go down which are quite steep.

This town of less than 90 inhabitants doesn't have much to see but it is a good place to stop and drink water before setting off. Just northeast of the city is a large mountain range that reaches about 1,260 meters high.

Here you will find a small town of less than 300 inhabitants. Some of the interesting things to see if you visit the area are the Church of Saint Michael the Archangel, the Hermitage of San José Obrero in La Fresneda de la Jara, the Church of San Lorenzo Justiniano in La Fresneda de la Jara and the Hermitage of the Virgin of the Valley.

Las Hunfrías is a small town of less than 50 inhabitants that sits in a beautiful valley surrounded by mountains. To the south of the town you will find green areas full of oaks, holm oaks, pines and chestnut trees, as well as shrubs such as cistus, broom and ferns.

Here you will find a shelter called Caseta de la Garganta de las Lanchas. If you walk the path for about a hundred meters you will reach the Garganta de las Lanchas and shortly after two beautiful waterfalls. This trail is prohibited for bicycles, so you will have to leave your bike at the shelter or walk with your bike.

Beautiful town with neo-Mudejar style houses that accentuate different aspects of its architecture such as windows, eaves and doors with brick frames. It also has some curious laundry rooms that are another good example of popular architecture.

I love the history of the name of this town. Apparently it was partly founded by beekeepers and the word "Mazo" comes from the device they used to scare away bears that came down from the nearby mountains to eat the honey. But it was not a mallet as you may be imagining, but a gigantic mallet that was moved by the waters of the river and produced a loud rhythmic noise that scared the greedy bears.
