This is not a Templar castle, as is often said, but it is a real wonder and well worth a visit. From the top of its keep, you have fantastic views of the entire Jaén countryside and its sea of olive trees. Closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, be careful!

The trail to Salto de los Órganos starts from the power station and is probably one of the most spectacular and challenging sections. After overcoming some steep slopes, to the left, from the Picón del Haza, a waterfall with a drop of more than 170 meters unfolds. The force of this waterfall is used by the hydroelectric plant.

Beautiful refugio / shelter to spend the night. Although the building is larger, only one room is actually in use. Several neat wooden beds have been made inside on which you can lie with your sleeping mat and sleeping bag. The room is bare, but neatly tiled and therefore cool in the summer. In the morning you can sit outside and enjoy breakfast in the morning sun.

The campos is the main reason why I visited this nature reserve. Years ago I saw pictures of it on the internet and in real life it is just as beautiful as I had hoped. The endlessness of the plateau, which is constantly varied, never gets boring. Although the cycling was relatively tough with a constant climb to the north and also a headwind, it was a beautiful place to cycle with the gravel bike. Along the way you will encounter several refugios / shelters to spend the night.

This stretch of path is difficult to cycle because it runs through areas of hard rock and is designed for walking, but in any case it is worth seeing and enjoying.

The path goes up and down several times between the stone towers, passes through small groups of giant pines, a couple of dense bojedas and crosses the old terraces of the Cortijo del Haza, the last hollow before crossing the Cinto del Haza and going down to the canal from the Órganos reservoir. In the last descent there is a group of pines with several hundred-year-old specimens. The trail turns to the right, crosses the channel tunnel and begins the descent of the Borosa River canyon through an impressive tuff formation. Sometimes the Salto de los Órganos is formed with the excess water from the canal, a hundred-meter waterfall that falls on the road before reaching the Borosa Hydroelectric Power Plant. The forest track that goes down to the fish farm begins at the door of the plant.

This refuge is located in a beautiful place. It has a signposted fountain about 150 meters away (although it can dry out). The location of the refuge is strategic, since it is the beginning or end of stages 14 and 15 of the Bosques del Sur trail (GR 247) and the variant 247.3.

The castle of La Iruela is a fortress of Andalusian origin located on a rock called El Picacho, in the heart of the natural park of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas. The views of the town and the surroundings are impressive. An open-air theater has been built in the castle grounds that pays homage to ancient Greek theatres. In this place, artistic activities and fireworks are carried out.
