The portraits on the facades of Mogarraz are one of the town's most striking features. In 2012, artist Florencio Maíllo began a project to recover old ID photos taken in the 1960s by Alejandro Martín. He painted more than 800 portraits on canvases and placed them on the facades of the town's houses. Each portrait depicts a resident who lived there during that time, creating a unique open-air museum in Spain. The goal: to preserve collective memory and bring the streets to life with art.

What to see in Montemayor del Río San Vicente Castle A 13th-century fortress, renovated in the 14th and 15th centuries. Today it houses the Medieval Interpretation Center and a restaurant recommended by the MICHELIN Guide. From its tower, you can see the historical routes and the Cuerpo de Hombre River valley. Church of Our Lady of the Assumption A 13th-century Romanesque-Gothic church with figured corbels and a 16th-century tower. Main Square The town's central hub, featuring stately homes, the Royal Prison, and a fountain with a 16th-century pillory. Walls and cobbled streets Mountain architecture with timber framing, similar to Candelario and villages in the Sierra de Francia. Hermitage of San Antonio (17th century) and Stone Bridge (1700) over the Cuerpo de Hombre River.

The Silver Route (Vía Verde de la Plata) in the Port of Béjar is part of the old Astorga–Plasencia railway line, now a nature trail for hiking and cycling. Don't miss the Little Station: a bar/restaurant in the old station, with a terrace and railway atmosphere (open during tourist season).

Very close to the Béjar Greenway, ideal for cyclists and hikers who follow the old railway line. Cuisine: Mediterranean and Spanish, with grilled meats, tapas, and traditional dishes. Specialties: Grilled meats (T-bone steak, Iberian pork shoulder). Burgers (including Wagyu). A variety of tapas, croquettes, and salads. Fresh fish and homemade stews.
