The Jimena Keep is the only intact part of Jimena Castle that remains; it recalls its medieval importance in reinforcing the strategic border line, along with Bedmar Castle. This Jimena Keep has a rectangular floor plan and is built of regular masonry with ashlar chains at the corners. Internally, it is organized into two floors covered with ribbed vaults and a basement that could be identified as the cistern. It was declared a Site of Cultural Interest in 1985.

The Iglesia de Santiago el Mayor in Jimena is a historical and architectural gem dating back to the 15th century. Here are some of its notable features: The church combines Gothic and Renaissance styles. The Gothic elements are visible in the cross vaults of the Capilla Mayor, while the main entrance has a semicircular Renaissance arch. The church was built on the site of a former mosque, reflecting the transition from Islamic to Christian influence in the region. It is named after the day that King Ferdinand III reconquered Jimena in 1234, on the feast of Santiago. Inside, the church has three naves, separated by tall stone columns with rounded arches. The Capilla Mayor has a star-shaped vault, and there are several religious statues, including those of the Virgen del Rosario and Santiago el Mayor. The bell tower, which rises above the village, was added in the 20th century and is a landmark in Jimena.

The Ermita de Nuestra Señora de los Remedios in Jimena is a charming chapel built in 1910 in honor of the Virgen de los Remedios. The chapel is located in the beautiful Paraje de Cánava, a picturesque location surrounded by palm trees and a fountain with seven water jets. It has a cross-shaped plan and is located at the foot of the mountains, on the road to Albanchez.

The Parque Natural de Sierra Mágina is a spectacular natural area in the province of Jaén, between Jaén and Granada. The park covers approximately 19,900 hectares, lies at an altitude of between 700 and 2,167 metres above sea level and is known for its rugged limestone mountains, deep gorges and picturesque valleys.

Jimena is a small town in the south of the province, on the northern side of the Sierra Mágina, located in a landscape of olive groves, fruit trees, allotments and sierra. The town is particularly known for its figs and brebas. The municipality is divided into two very different areas: there is the mountainous south-eastern area that is part of the Sierra Mágina Natural Park, and the rest of the municipality is agricultural land dedicated to olives.

Cambil is a town that preserves many remains of Arab origin, among which is its castle. Located in a small valley, it is a cold place in winter but cool in summer.
